We're The Adults Now, Protect The Youth


It’s the craziest trip I’ve ever been on. I was once just a teen in this town, walking around memorized and mislead. I was washed over by the influences of different individuals that at the time I thought were well informed adults. 

I’m sure you’ve heard it before, or you’re currently experiencing this phenomenon. You’re an adult now, walking around this town a little differently. There’s a chance, well, I hope there’s a chance, you see someone younger than you, with the same look in their eyes, you had. The hope that we can be trusted to guide them. I’ve never felt this need to protect such innocence. 

I know now all the growth they are about to go through and I’ve never wanted to help more. I understand not everyone want to be involved but, as a former child myself, I see how important it is to be a trust worthy adult. Someone they can count on to get them their safe if they are lost. I know I would have appreciated it, and did when those moment did cross my path, that I, a child, knew that adult would guide me in the right direction. 

I don’t know if it’s an actual hormonal change, or the need to protect, but I just don’t want to see these pure souls hurt and suffer in the ways I may have in my youth. I learned recently that there are other countries that take the mental health and safety of all children as a collective responsibility. 

After being back home this time around, I’ve never felt more like an adult. Everyone in town looks so much younger and I feel their
