Hi, I'm New Here
I got there, just like any other day I show up anywhere.
I was dressed in whatever outfit would be awesome that day, with no experience or previous knowledge of my new classmates’ preferences.
Being the new kid was weird.
You showed up with whatever you previously thought was your view, with what little knowledge you had of the world, it would be tested, by some random kids you’ve never met before.
Was what I knew comparable to what they knew? We would find out.
The ones interested in the differences between us would become my friends.
The ones who couldn’t imagine differences would become the ones who would ridicule and mock me.
I was different and not like them.
Not like anyone they grew up with.
Not like anyone they could compare to.
Some people say being a wild card was my blessing, never know what’s next.
But it’s just a way of life.
It’s being somewhere new all of the time.
It’s not a blessing, it’s not a curse. It’s just how it is.
There isn’t some massive benefit to having it be a blessing, because a curse could be a blessing too.
Hi, I’m new here. I get off top pick and I wonder off the path; I’ve gotten here by simple circumstance.
I’m just trying to get back.
But once you’ve left the past, it’s a burnt-up shack.
So I can’t look back and now I’m here with strangers.
