It has been a few days of distractions. Although I didn't sit down and put pen to paper, or fingers to keyboard. I was living. I am still working on a timeline, which honestly, has helped a lot with my creative development. I am learning that its good to have a plan.
I'm not writing chapter after chapter at the moment, well, not anymore. I was running into road blocks that exasperated my inspiration. I felt overwhelmed and consumed with the idea that a book is more than just a few pages and words. My plan of attack? Breaking down this book into parts. Having some time with friends and sharing my ideas also felt like part of my process. Seeing things from their eyes made me want to add them to this book. It was beautiful to see that I could not only create a story, but incorporate moments and people in my life. Not word for word of course, and this will still be a fictional story, but part of the character development will definitely be inspired by my friends and colleges.
I may have felt I was drifting but in-fact what I found was inspiration. Being with my friends and allowing my mind to wonder is where I found the building blocks for this book. I'm excited for that. I have a steady timeline going so far and now I know where I need to do my research and how I will lead my characters through their journey to the end. Exciting stuff over here.
