Well,
I just wrote a post and my computer turned off, it was so beautiful and gone forever. So here I go again, cracking my fingers for the second attempt.
I love writing, writing a story? With my attention span? Feeling impossible but doable. I just need to force myself to sit down somewhere in silence. At first, I thought being around people would help inspire me, but it just distracted me. I'd end up talking to everyone instead of homing in on my work. So, I discovered that, and it's been nice to stay out of the bars and keep to myself for a little.
Right now, I've switched the beginning of my story a few times already, first to first person, then third, now I'm back to first. I'm allowing the main character to act as sort of a host to the story. Welcoming the reader and introducing the setting and the people.
I still don't know how it will end, and I've been told by many other writers I've befriended over this that having the ending panned out will help for you to get there easier. So, I'm trying, I just got so excited out of the beginning and the concept, that I just went with whatever flowed out of me. I thought it was good until I started second guessing myself after I read it over for the third time. Honestly, sometimes I wonder how many times a writer reads their own book, Haha.
I've really been enjoying all the challenges and it's been fun to ride the wave of motivation for sure. I see this taking a good year a least. But the blog posts will keep coming because they have grown to be one of my favorite free writing pastimes.
So as always,
Thank you for reading <3
