To a friend

To you, my friend. It's not easy to write about and I'm blushing just thinking about the fact that I've decided to write about you here for them and all the world to read.

You wanted me to write to you because you knew I wanted to. You knew I couldn't possibly write to you what I wanted to, but I'll write to you because you've asked me to.

You knew that by asking me to write to you I'd write what I could but not what I want to. I like that you challenged me and wanted to see what I'd turn this into.

I'll start by talking about you since I know that's your favorite part, I'll bring you up and dress you down with words that whistle and maybe even tickle. We can start at the top, yes, I'm talking about your locks of hair that flow everywhere. They move past your face alongside your eyes wisping like willows my favorite tree. Now to your face across your cheeks roses bloom when your smile peeks.

Lucky are those that get to see it, you brighten up all those who wouldn't believe it. Streaks of sunlight peak through the cracks of any place you choose to pace. Now we're at your neck, shoulders, and chest, the chariot to your heart's rest. Broad and strong filled with will and strength. Just by looking at you, I know you hold so much restraint. Humbled by this world and going through it alone you ran into me running in place in an imaginary race.

You know I'm smiling while I'm writing because you saw me smiling when I was writing. You said if this is how you can keep me smiling then just keep writing and write about you. I laughed at how silly and simple a request turned into a quest to surprise you.

Now I'll mention the arms that were made for the best hugs and the belly that only eats the best food far from jelly. Sharing meals and memories repairs are made with comfort and conversation where we move from traumas to meditation. We sit and breathe through the moment and of course, I can't forget the legs that have carried you to me. Long and strong made for wide strides and long distances. You carry yourself like a true god amongst men although you'll never admit it, just knowing your humility softens anyone's attempt at stupidity.

Oh, and before I forget your feet that ran through the street in the rain after me when I tagged you and tripped. Laughing hysterically was the best, then we kissed the stars goodnight on the ground rolling in puddles all around. Covered in mud what a night for the spark of a beautiful friendship light. I see you and you see me it's a special reflection of souls reflecting the same positivity. We ride the same wave, and the wave is a wild one.

Recognizing you helped validate me and that's why you know I'm smiling because we both set each other free. We chalked it all up to memories and moments that will build on themselves but fight the bad days like rocky waves, stay steady but ready so if we crash, we just pass through and float back up. If there was ever another storm while we are out in open waters, let the electricity be exciting and enlivening.

No matter what we face, the moments will amount to the all-encompassing whole of our existence. Live for all and not just for one. You've helped me heal and see how to navigate any type of estate. Thank you for being an energy I can reverberate.
