I want you to forget me

I'm just a grain of sand 

On a sandy beach 

I don't want you to recognize me 

I'm just another face in a crowd

I count my days

Each one a blessing 

But there is no guarantee 

I'll get many 

I'm guessing 

I'm not here to outshine you

I'm here to blend in 

Laugh with you 

While I pass the grass to you 

Don't you want to enjoy this too? 

Why are you here?

I didn't choose to be here either.

But here we are

So I'm here to see the sunset 

To be hugged like the world's my blanket 

To smell all the flowers 

While I pass the hours 

And then one day 

My eyes will close 

I won't worry if you remember me

I'll only hope you live as much 

Because after a few days

A few weeks 

It will just be you 

Not me, that will get to see

So take it all in 

and forget me
